2025 MSV Miata Trophy
Rounds 13 & 14 – Brands Hatch Indy
The final round of 2025 arrived after a two-month break since Cadwell Park, and it was great to be racing again — although we’re definitely not used to it in November!
The weather was pretty mucky all weekend. Friday testing was wet, but it was useful to get some running in those conditions and I actually felt quite quick.
Qualifying never happened due to heavy fog, so the grids for both races were set by championship positions. That put me sixth for race one and fifth for race two.
Race one was action-packed. I got a super launch off the line and jumped straight into fourth. After an early safety car I tried to make a move at Paddock Hill, but ran wide onto some gravel that had been dragged onto the circuit by another car. That sent me on my own little trip off-track and dropped me back to tenth.
All was not lost, however. I settled down, grabbed two places back, and was crawling all over the next pair before a red flag ended things early. The result wasn’t great, but I was happy with the pace and the fighting I was able to do at the end — it gave me confidence going into race two.
Race two had a developing dry line, and again I jumped two places at the start to run third. I managed to get into second, but out-braked myself at Druids and slipped back again. Another safety car bunched everyone up, and at the restart I was forced onto the wet line and lost two spots — back to where I’d started. I got my head down though, and near the end a clash ahead opened the door for me to grab second place.
It’s been a tough year, so finishing with a strong result feels like a good platform for 2026.
Thank you for all the support throughout the season. Keep an eye on my racing socials and website over the winter and, all being well, we’ll be back out again in March.
